Purchased a 'Drifta' Unit from DStv. This unit was used for a maximum of 5 hours and started showing an error message. DStv declared the unit as 'faulty', advised the unit is no longer under warrantee, and that it was not their policy to repair the units. Therefore, since there was no insurance on the unit, the user has to purchase a new unit.

During my complaint and attempt at resolving the issue, DStv simply advised it was not their policy to repair these units, leaving the user complete stranded. This follows many attempts at resolving the issue, downloading new software, placing many calls with DStv for support and finally a visit to their Randburg offices.

I have been a faithful subscriber to DStv since 1987, and for the first time I think they are nothing but a bunch of money-grabbers, certainly not having their customer's best interest at heart. No effort at all was made to even try assist to resolve the issue or ensure that I remain a satisfied customer.

If I buy a new BMW, and even if the guarantee has expired, when it breaks, it will be repaired by the supplier.

Sorry guys, but I find this unacceptable.
