A Disgrace To South African Tourism

I booked a carriage ride for 2 through City Slickers. The company works from the Castle of Good Hope in Cape Town. When I arrived for the ride there was another couple waiting but the carriage did not turn up at 10.30am the time we had arranged for. We waited around for 30 minutes and then phoned the company who denied any knowledge of us taking a ride that day and said that the horses were being fed. When I said this was not accieptable Marlene, the co-owner, slammed the phone down on me. The carriage driver was contacted and appeared saying that he had no knowledge that a ride had been arranged and that he would prepare the coach. After another 15 minutes he appeared with a coach that was topless which we refused to go on for a 60 minuite ride as the temperature was now 35 degrees. I took one of their leaflets which says that they are member of the Cape Town Tourism and contacted them but was told that they had not renewed their membership. From what I understand this has happened to many people who turn up for a ride. Therefore this is. The Castle is aware of the situation but refuses to stop them operating within the castle. Don't get conned - beware of this company.
