PVR keeps getting 'stuck'

Every morning my PVR is stuck and a clock like symbol appears in the right hand corner of the tv screen. I have to switch off at the main to get it working again. I've had scheduled recordings during the early part of the morning that have not recorded as well due to this. My PVR is only 60% full and this happens all the time. who can assist in this regard?
