Infuriating breaks in transmission

We are plagued by the following
1) Screen abruptly goes back and can only be recovered by rebooting, thus losing part of current programme I am taping.
2) The Programme Guide reboot. This used to take a maximum of 2-3 minutes. Now one can sometimes sit for 20-30 minutes before completion.
3) DSTV on demand-pathetic
4) Some channels 114 for example, often refuse to tape. Taping is indicated, but, when replayed all we get is a blank screen. This has also happened on other channels at varying times.
5) When contacting service, most of them follow a rote
a) Try rebooting-I am not stupid, I have already done that and it does'nt work. Nonetheless, they ask me to do it-result always the same.
b) Check wiring to decoder-This is perfect and always has been. After originally following their instruction, I now wait a minute and tell them its fine.
c) various options tried -then the final voice of doom.
d) Take your decoder to the Service centre, Ours is in Gateway Durban-a long way away. What if no car?

6) Some programmes-Who wants to be a Millionaire for one, sometimes Ten plus years old
7) Breaks for adverts seem to be getting longer and longer. "S.As got Talent" One act followed by Ads-
