REFUSAL TO RECONNECT DESPITE OFFERING PAYMENT

Recreation & Entertainment

Content of email sent to multichoice:
What does it cost to re-connect to DSTV? I called this evening to re-connect my
account no.#. After 15min of holding, ID verification, package selection I was
rudely brushed off: "it won't be connected; company policy".

Why: "R1.30 outstanding on the account". I offered immediate online payment;
not acceptable. After 15minutes which cost - R5 and another 5 minutes for verifications,
etc, this was a true slap in the face and I put down the phone without feeling bad about it at all.

I've been with dstv 20 years; never went into arrears; always paid what was due ONTIME.
In the past, I could get re-connected via phone, at any time, no problem. Is this how far a
National Broadcaster will go? Not 1mm in favour of a Client?

This cost me R5 and 20min of my time. Not willing to look over R1.30 is going to cost you, just
from me NOT subscribing, in excess of R3000 revenue in the next 12 months. So ask yourself,
What does it cost to re-connect a Client?

PS: Someone else is also downgrading from the 'ever repeat broadcasting full boquet' to a much
lighter boquet. Happy further revenue losses.
PS2: TopTV re-connects via FNB on online banking live!
