Tried to cancel, still debited. Nobody cares

At the end of May I contacted Multichoice to inform them that I wanted to cancel because I was going to be sharing a house with someone who already had PVR active and didn't require a duplicate service. After waiting in a call queue for ages I was eventually told that I had to call a different number and that they couldn't transfer me. I was given a 083 cell number to dial. When I dialed this number i was told the subscriber I had dialed was unavailable. I then sent an e-mail via the Multichoice website instructing them to cancel my service. No action was taken and they debited my account in full. When I eventually got hold of someone they said that no action was taken because my request went to the wrong department (so much for 1st call resolution!!?). The agent then said she couldn't cancel my service and refund me because she needs to escalate the matter and she assured me that someone would get back to me. I still haven't heard anything and its been 2 weeks since i tried to cancel! This level of service is totally unacceptable, and if I don't receive a favorable response and outcome I will continue to publicize the matter to warn other consumers what to expect!
