APPALLING TENANT SELECTED NO RENT MY FLAT WRECKED

I chose Accommodation Finder (AF) to manage my flat. AF selected a disastrous tenant, without background checks & allowed him to move in WITHOUT ANY RENT OR DEPOSIT. No rent was received during the five months that their tenant occupied my flat. Upon departure my flat left in a disgusting state, furniture ripped, wallpaper torn, many things damaged/missing. All locks had not been changed, contrary to what AF confirmed in writing. Despite having an employee in the building AF took no responsibility for the tenant, letting me take all the heat from the Body Corporate. When I finally got hold of lease I saw that rent was 40% higher than AF claimed. As to payment due (rent, electricity & damages, total R102 208) AF simply has this to say "here is the tenant's number, you sort it out with him". Later, I discovered AF is not a member of Estate Agents Affairs Board (which they claim, in writing "went bankrupt a few years ago"). AF was in fact deregistered on 19/10/10 for failing to register returns. Alex Judd constantly places herself in the role of victim and wronged party, and conveniently ignores the serious shortcomings for which she is 100% responsible. Stay away from this company!
