Agents Running Away from Me

Real Estate

I was looking for a house for my parents. The house was worth R400 000 . I completed all the necessary forms, including home-loan application. It was approved by the bank. I was then requested to pay the 10% deposit as agreed. I paid R40 000 to seller's attorneys. I signed all the necessary agreement/contractual forms from both the bank attorneys (bond) and the house seller's attorneys (registration). All this was completed around April 2013.

I was told that the seller & his wife were in the process of getting divorce. The wife was refusing to sign. I was informed that the house could not be registered under my name until this problem was resolved. However, I only found out about this information after waiting for a long time hoping to hear from the agent about when to move into the house. The agents avoided my calls. I attempted to reach his assistant but I failed. I asked my mother to go to their offices. But she was given multiple versions of why she couldn't move into the house.

The agents would switch off their phones. It's been 9 months now and I am still waiting. The agents only answer my calls when I use different numbers. I don't know what to do or if I've lost my money
