Centlec
Billed for meter with a prepaid meter installed

Politics & Government

In Jun 2012, prepaid meters were installed at Marhei court and started making use of prepaid electricity. But end of July 2012 I received a meter reading/estimate bill. I contacted Centlec via emails and telephone calls and was told to ignore the bill as the account will be closed and reconcilled, but I continued receiving bills and I also continued communcating the problem to Centlec.

In Jan 2013, I was told that there had been a mix up with my meter and anonther unit and the contractors (non Centlec employees) that had installed the prepaid meters were responsible and have to be callled in and that the matter had been refered to the Manger Ms Moipone Makganya.

I tried contacted Ms Makganya on 01/02/13, only to be told by a woman (who also refused to identify herself and was very) that I was at the wrong department, without having heard my reasons to speak to the Ms Makganya, and she subsequently transfered my call to Teboho at account enquiry.

I called Ms Makganya's office again and the same woman answer and told me her name (Vannessa) but refused to give her surname. I told her that I'll be taking legal action against Centlec and she said I can go ahead.
