We had a prepaid meter installed by The Meter Man at one of our properties we rent out. The reason for installing the pre-paid meter is for "peace of mind" that we wont be left with an unpaid electricity account by our tennant. We noticed after a few months that the amount paid over by The Meter Man and the actual electricity being charged differ. This means that there is a shortfall on the account every month. I queried this and was told they would investigate and get back to me. They also promised to send me a detailed report/account. None of which have happened. I query this with them again. First, no response! After follow up emails demanding a response, I get the following: " As you can see The Meter man pays over the purchases every month. The rate on the meter is set on R1.76 retail and pay out of R1.53" As if this means anything to me!! All I know is that there is a difference of approx. R1000 pm. between the prepaid purchases and the actual account and I have to foot the bill!! What must I do to get some assistance in sorting this out?? The meter has been in for more than 18 months and the bill is adding up!
