IS THIS HOW YOU TREAT YOUR ELDERLY?

My mother has been getting her old age pension for the past 7 years. She did not receive any notification that she needs to re-apply / have a review to get the new pension card and upon enquiry was rudely informed "you should listen to the radio". OK fine, so I took my mom there to do the necessary paperwork but surprise surprise no-one at the designated premises knew exactly what needs to be done. My mom was sent from pillar to post, this one wants this, that one wants that, this one is not sure if it should be original or certified copies etc. My mom had to go back 3 times to be treated with no respect and utter contempt and stand in the cold and rain until the SASSA people felt it fit to open the doors. I went with my mom to see if speaking English to these unhelpful folk would get her somewhere I have not seen so much audacity, lack of respect and total disregard than I have seen at SASSA Strand, I actually made a video clip showing how they treat and speak to old and disabled people Carte Blanche should really look into this! Now the phone only rings when we try and follow up and the one time I got through I was told they are busy moving and cant find her file? Well done to you!
