Department of Home Affairs
After 3 months still no certificate!

My husband and I had applied for our unabridged marriage certificate 3 months ago. We still have not received it. I have gone to the department of home affairs in Belville and each time with out fail frustrated and disappointed.

The first time I went I spoke to this lady and she said she needed my original marriage certificate and this was already after 2 months of waiting. I went home and fetched the required forms and back to home affairs I went. When I arrived there again they said no they do not need these forms they already had it!

Now today 17 May 2013 I went again to find my husbands ID number was wrong on the certificate. I was so disappointed as we really need our certificate as we plan on going overseas. She took my receipt and gave me a copy of the wrong certificate and when I asked for my receipt back she refused. She was very uptight and completely rude. I then proceeded to phone Pretoria as the lady said it is a fault Pretoria had made, but Pretoria said that all of my and my husbands information is correct on their systems and it is Beliville's fault. I then went back to be told to come back on Wednesday and hopefully it will be ready.
