Dear Vodacom Customer Care Team,
I am writing to formally express my deep disappointment and seek your urgent assistance regarding poor service and handling of a warranty claim at the Makro Nelspruit Vodacom repair service point.
On the 23 January 2026 , I purchased a phone smartphone for my mother at Makro Nelspruit for R1,599. The device came with a stated 12-month warranty. Unfortunately, within less than a week, the phone developed a fault and stopped charging.
I promptly returned the device to the Makro Nelspruit service point for assessment and repair under warranty. I was informed that the phone would be sent for repairs. Subsequently, I received a call to collect it, but upon arrival,
I was told the device had been assessed and a repair quote of R2,000 was required — an amount higher than the original purchase price. To my surprise, the phone appeared untouched and showed no signs of having been opened or repaired.
This situation is particularly distressing as I am currently unemployed and saved for an entire year to purchase this phone as a gift for my mother, who is bedridden due to illness. The device is essential for her communication and well-being.
Given that the fault occurred well within the warranty period and the phone shows no evidence of physical damage or misuse, I kindly request your intervention as soon as possible.
I would greatly appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and a response at your earliest convenience
