Frustration with delivery service

I bought a chest of drawers from this supplier. Very early in our transaction they made it clear that delivery only happens between 9am and 3pm daily. Being in a 8-to-5 job myself (Johannesburg), these times are not very convenient. We did get to a compromise that they will call 1 hour before delivery which will give me enough time to get home to accept the delivery. I was also told that I would get an sms that will confirm the delivery time.

Needless to say, I never received the sms. I was phoned 1 hour before the delivery (11:06 am). By 12:00 I received another call, saying the delivery vehicle is in another part of Pretoria and will be at my house in 35 minutes.By 13:00 I phoned the shop, asking where they were - I was again told they are 15 minutes away. And when I phoned at 13:30, I was told they were in my street. Only by 14:00, a delivery that was supposed to have happened at 12:00, was complete.

I had to explain to my boss why I was out of the office for 3.5 hours instead of the estimated 2! Just because of this unaccomodating and presumptuous attitude, I will most probably in future look for someone else to spend my money with!
