Sales Agents Deceitful to Secure the Deal

In October 2013 at the Holiday Inn, Isando my wife and I attended a VHI presentation and signed up for a Sapphire membership. However, the information that we were given by the sales agent differed to that of the contract.
1. We were told that we would have access to make bookings within 10 days upon signing the agreement. (Hanelie - Customer Service Manager confirmed it would take between 6 - 8 weeks)
2. We were told that VHI would rent out our QVC points that we have and it would cover the cost of our deposit that was paid in 2013 and furthermore cover the cost of the contract going forward. It was on this basis that we agreed to sign the contract otherwise we could not afford it.
(Hanelie advised that this was not true, it would take time to hire out the points without any guarantee. When I explained to her that the sales agent to us she said they cannot control this and implied that the sales agent would say whatever they felt necessary to secure a deal. As if it were acceptable?? Surely there has to be ramifications for his actions!)
Upon trying to cancel the contract we were told that we only had 5 days in which to do so.
This appears to be unprincipled!
