Do not deal with Rent-a-store

Having run into a bad financial spell and not being able to pay for a few months my goods were eventually sold. i have contacted rent a store a month prior to the goods being sold in order to make an arrangement to settle the outstanding amount at the end of the month but to no success. We dont plan for things to happen and rent a store should have been more courteous and understanding to a clients situation. No person would want to lose their belongings in such a manner. I have spoken to Leigh-Ann in Hondeydew to make a payment arrangement but to no avail. There was no sympathy shown in any way. I was then referred to Dimakatso in Midrand and was made aware that the goods have been sent to the auctioneers and that i should consult a lawyer in order to retrieve the goods. I had asked what time frame i had in order to resolve the matter and none was given. Just an "asap" answer. A letter from the lawyer was sent 2 days later but Dimakatso already knew that the goods had already been sold. Items that are not sold are shredded or destroyed. Why not just sell whats required in order to obtain the outstanding fees and return what rightfully belongs to the client. Hope they close down!!!
