BEWARE OF THE SABC & VVM DEBT COLLECTORS SA EXPATS

I emigrated to Europe in March this year, where I'm currently residing and likely to reside for a number of years.

Before leaving SA, I notified the SABC TV License Department that I would not be renewing my TV license, given that I would not be in SA (duh!).

The SABC did not reply to me and here I am, 8 months later, with VVM Debt Collectors on my back!!!

N.B. VVM operates via a call centre - I cannot call anyone directly - and they don't share an email address - complaints/feedback have to be submitted via an online portal which was not working the last time I tried (I tried at least 3 times).

I find this objectionable and unethical and I would hereby like to warn SA expats that the SABC will find you wherever you are - you will be hounded and harassed by them - and VVM Debt Collectors - for the next 3 incarnations at least - and it won't matter if you will be living in Nepal, Buenos Aires or Sydney at the time.

Next step, should Hellopeter not help to resolve this matter - widespread national & international media coverage will follow for both - because yes, I'm a journalist. Gird your loins SABC and VVM, you've got it coming to you - guaranteed!!!
