I purchased a TV in Jan 2011 under the condition that the licence fees are covered for 2 years. The salesman at the time has left the company; leaving me without any proof that the arrangement was in place.
In 2013 Nudebt informed me that my account has been handed over, yet I have never received any form of communication from SABC prior to this. I approached Nudebt to explain my problem. SABC still keeps on adding penalty-charges to my account. My account was transferred to VVM. I explained my situation AGAIN, and AGAIN informed them that I will pay any outstanding fees; but that I am not going to pay penalties on an infringement I was not aware off. I contacted SABC to resolve the issue myself. Unfortunately this did not help as the consultant referred me to the company who sold me the TV-set and also refused to communicate with me via email.1. Why did I not receive any form of communication to inform me that my account is in arrears, prior to the account being handed over to debt collectors? 2.Why are SABC adding penalties to my account during a period of dispute? 3.Why are SABC charging penalties when the company is not a fin-institution? 4. Why would SABC not look into case?
