Cupcakes as hard as scones

On Friday, 25 Oct I ordered 30 cupcakes for my daughter's Baby Shower (vanilla with blue and white icing). I picked it up at 15:30 and when I got home repacked them from the carton boxes into plastic (tupper) containers to keep it fresh. The Baby Shower was at 10:00 on Saturday, 26 Oct. The cupcakes would have been the perfect tea time treat. I saw a couple of women take cupcakes but also observe them eating a couple of bites and then just leave it. I decided to try one myself and very disappointed found that I could not get the cake fork to go through the supposedly soft vanilla cupcake. It was as hard as a week old scone. This was very disappointing as I paid R10-00 for one, secondly I was very embarrassed for myself and my daughter as the cupcakes were supposed to be the teatime treat after the savouries. I took it back to For Cupsake's this morning. The lady behind the counter squeesed one and was suprised/shocked by how hard they felt. She apologised but nothing more - just looked at me as I calmly unpacked the cupcakes from the holders onto the counter - not asking for my money but asked her her to sell it at half price or give to the street kids and walked away with nothing
