Vet couldn't care less

I'm disappointed at how a cat was treated at your vet recently. The cat was brought in a couple of weeks ago where the unemployed owner spent R700 to have his cat spend a week there for a bladder infection. When he was fetched, the cat had two meds prescribed to him. The medication was given diligently & it didn't solve the problem (the cat was still having problems doing his business). He was brought back last week Friday, where the vet squeezed him to show that there is no blockage, gave some Pax (anti anxiety medication) & sent the owner home saying that the cat must just be watched. No antibiotics, no scans to make sure there were no blockages, nothing. I told them to go to a private vet where the vet actually discovered that the cats bladder was so swollen from the infection that he couldn't pee. The cat is still at the vet, on antibiotics with a catheter. I am heavily disappointed because R700 is a lot of money for an unemployed person, a bladder infection can be life threatening and the vet on duty seemed like he couldn't have cared less about doing the job properly. If the vets aren't passionate about looking after the animals properly then they shouldn't be there at all.
