Excitement turned to utter disappointment

Our group of 6 people from Sweden (& myself from South Africa) booked a day diving with Aliwal. Our full day of diving was R800 each, which we had paid in advance. Once we arrived, our inexperienced divers began their lesson in the swimming pool. During their introduction we were informed that the visibility at sea was poor and that we were therefore not going to be able to dive that day. After 20minutes in the swimming pool we were each charged R760 (a R40 discount on the entire day's price). The poor visibility was unfortunate, yet taking advantage of this situation and only deducting only R40 from the total price was unethical and proved the opportunist behaviour of the centre. Since we had paid in advance, the Aliwal team would not reimburse us further. We gave up on trying to reason with them and walked back to our car while the staff sat on their balcony and laughed at us. As a South African I was completely ashamed of their behaviour and disgusted by their opportunism.
