I would like to lodge a formal complaint regarding the post office located at The Square (Corner Rietfontein & Rigg Road, Jansen Park, Boksburg). Today, I arrived to find my post box had been locked and would only be unlocked tomorrow. When questioned as to why this happened, the branch manager informed me that she had recently taken over, and her predecessor did not keep accurate logs. When I asked why she could not have checked to see if the box had been paid online, I was informed that there are too many boxes to check and she couldn't possibly do them all!!! This is effectively saying that it was easier for her to inconvenience the paying customers rather than do due diligence!!!

I make my payments online and on time every year - should I be late with a payment, I will be penalised but it seems that the Post Office can revoke a paid of service without notification or verification because they are too lazy to ensure accuracy.

I was not able to access the box and will have to make another trip (and use more petrol) at my expense.
