I renew my post box every year in January. Last week on 26 June I tried to open my post box and found that I could not. I took the key into the Post Office at the site and I was told that it was locked due to non payment. The gentleman called an office after I told him that I have paid it on the Post Office internet site in January. After the call he apologised profusely and said he was not informed that the post box was already paid in January but that on Thursday 27 June he will have it opened. Subsequently I have been back on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 but box is still locked. I need bills from there as I want to do payments on 1 July. I have things which companies have sent twice already and due to strikes it was never delilvered so I am anxious to see if it has arrived. This is 6 months after I have paid and now my post box was locked!! I understand the mistake (sort of) but to tell me it will be unlocked and then wasting petrol to drive 20km there and back for nothing is not acceptable. Previously I complimented SA Post Office but this is just bad!
