NEDERBURG WINE EST. RESTAURANT HAZARD TO CHILDREN

Miscellaneous

Lunch at Nederburg wine estate reastaurant, celebrating our daughter's 6th birthday, Saturday 22nd June, 1.30 pm. Whilst lunch was ordered and we were waiting our two daughters decided to play in the lawn outside the restaurant.
There was a labrador cross out there which belonged to the owner who attacked our birthday girl and left scratch marks on her waist and hand. Our poor child was terrified and in tears and we mentioned it to the staff. The staff called Melani who came with her first aid kid and apologised and offered us a complimentary bottle of wine!
How could a reputable resatuarant like this leave an untamed dog in a public area? Are we supposed to keep our children at leash, or should the owner's who live on the estate keep their dogs at leash?
I would appeal to all the parents to think twice before taking their kids out to restaurants like these as it is hazardous and completely unprofessional to have a wild pet in a public area without warning signs!
We would never return to NEDERBURG WINE ESTATE due to our bad experience.
