We owe you nothing

My wife was informed that her account was handed over to MBD. Arrangements were made and we stuck to it most of the time. In January/February we phoned numerous times to obtain settlement amounts and were promised that it would be emailed. Off course nothing was send. On 2013/02/05 my wife phoned again and a settlement amount was given over the telephone and the person stated that we had to pay before 2013/02/07. On 2013/02/06 we paid the said amount. Now we are continuously bombarded with SMS regarding arrears in our account. When queried, 'Dianne, credit manager' informed us that we were given only an estimate at the time. If it was an estimate, why were we given a cut-off date for payment? So please bring us the recording that you claim to have where we were informed that it was only an estimate. The fact is, your employee made us believe that the amount given was a settlement amount.
