WRONGFULLY CHARGED WITH A TV LICENCE ACCOUNT

In 2008 an SABC official came to my cousin's flat and asked if there was a TV set, I answered yes as there was, and I was there to study during exams as it was noisy where I was staying in Athlone. My cousin was at work and her flatmate at Unisa as he was an Honours student from Ghana.

The official said I must show her my ID so she can contact them through me and last year I got SMS's and calls from VVM attorneys agents saying the account was handed over to them. I sent an affidavit explaining the whole story, to the person who called me with the ref # she gave me (can't remember her name and dont have the doc now).

Again this year i'm getting numerous calls, last one being yesterday @20h22 telling me I owe R3100 for which I never owned a TV. My problem was falling for the TV licence's Official trick to produce my ID as she didnt even enter the flat to see the TV set and where was it located. That TV was owned by someone whom I don't even know by last name as my cousin also didn't have TV that time.

In future when VVM wants to accuse people of owing any of their clients, they must atleast get their facts straight.
