Pest sms requesting money

I just received receiced an sms from VVM advising that I owe money for TV licence account number 252450960 and that i should pay R158.75 x 6 months beginning April 25th. I have never owned a TV so have never had a TV licence or any account with SABC.

VVM and SABC should get their facts right. No wonder the organisation is in tatters (SABC) When Googled the number 0877401211 I find that I'm not the first person to be sent sms's for money and the claim is baseless. Seems like VVM is a Mickey Mouse collections firm. Do they not validate numbers and details before they begin harrassing people? Or is it a ploy to get people to call them on a premium rate number I wonder? I called the landline number on the website and pressed 2 for the call centre and was diconnected. Called back and pressed 1 for reception and got through to a rude woman who transfered me and the line was cut again.
