How is this Legal?

The Technical Guys phoned and offered a free trail month for October 2012. Then I informed them that it was not working for me after the trail month. They then said that it takes 8 weeks to work and that I sould give it another month (November) as there is no contract and it is a month to month thing where you pay up front if you want the service for another month. I then paid them for 1x extra month and still it is not working for me. because it's month to month, I informed them that its not working for me and I changed my FTP details immediately so they don't have access to my site and they can not give me the service anymore. Now I received a call from the accounts department (Nina) telling me that I owe them 3x months installments! I tell them that I am not a client and I haven't signed a contract but they are RUDE and adiment to take it to legals... I have never ones received a call or invoice from them since November 2012. But the sales team keeps on phoning me to sign me up all the time. They refuse to answer any questions and put the phone down in my ear every time I phone. How is this legal?
