Vivitar Spotting Scope - Complete waste of money

I ordered the Vivitar 20x 40x 60x Spotting Scope which was on a great deal last week for R451, but I suppose you get what you pay for.
Obviously I wasn't expecting Nikon or Pentax type quality but looking through the viewfinder the best focus you can get is when the centre is sort of in focus and the sides are all blurry (not even as good as the image you get from the cheapest binoculars that you can buy for R80), it actually looks a bit like a 3D movie without the glasses.
But I figured "okay the spotting scope is a dud but atleast I got a tripod out of the deal" but the first time I tried setting up the tripod one of the cheap plastic support clips just snapped off! ", so now I have a useless scope as well as a broken tripod which is now a bipod until the other plastic clips break.

Is there any sort of quality control at Catch Of The Day?
