In 2010 february my partner and i took out a medical aid with spectramed. In the middle of March my husband went to a dentist and tried using medical aid but was declined as they said it did not have funds. After a month we cancelled the medical aid as we took out one with my employers. We kept getting messages that there was an outstnding balance on the spectramed medical aid. We kept calling to find out if it was cancelled as instruced and it was but sms kept coming through almost every month. Today 18 Dec 2013 got another message I then called spectramedto find what is it that we owe the agent advised that because we were covered for the month of march we have to pay about 3500 for that month. I asked him why because we never used the medical aid and he said we were insured therefore owe that month. Asked if we were insured why was it declined by the dentist he said he did not know. Why would they want us to pay even though it was declined while we tried using it
