Incorrect Billing

A dental procedure that my 6 year old daughter had undergone on 1/02/13 in theatre, was incorrectly billed to my MSA (R4244.50), to pay for dental work. This, after I had confirmation from a Discovery consultant that it would be paid from the in-hospital benefit, as I informed him exactly what the procedure would involve. I queried the billing with my dentist, who used the codes as supplied by Discovery. On querying with several Discovery consultants they, as well as a supervisor confirmed that the payment should have been made from the in-hospital benefit and there was an error code on the system and a reversal would be done on 25/02/13. This has not been done. I have simply received an e-mail stating that the consultants were wrong. This is pathetic service, as my decision to have the procedure done in-hospital, was based on the information that I received from Discovery. I have not heard anything from Discovery, other than a voice message/e-mail saying they would contact me. This was 2-3 weeks ago. I have another daughter suffering from a chronic disease and her treatment is now compromised because of Discovery's inefficency and refusal to honour their word/fix their mistake
