Molars no longer covered for Root Canal treatment

My wife had root canal treatment on one of her molars. This month we discovered that Bonitas (DENIS) no longer covers root canal treatments on molars! So we now have to pay for the treatment. This is a new development that they do not cover this particular treatment on our policy. Last year this was covered. They send out a list of covered treatments, but do not highlight the treatments which have been removed.
When I called the help line to find out why the treatment was rejected, they simply told me that the treatment is not covered. They didn't say that the treatment is NO LONGER covered, just that it is not covered. The woman had the audacity to say we can still have a root canal treatment done, we just have to pay for it ourselves!!!
I emailed the customer services department asking for contact details to lodge a complaint, I was again simply told " we do not cover this treatment! "
I am very disappointed by DENIS. Their complaints procedure does not work. Their backhanded approach to reducing benefits stinks, and the fact that they don't pay for root canal treatments on the teeth that most often need treatment is really crooked.
