Health & Medicine

2 weeks ago I was diagnosed with underactive thyroid and the doctor prescribed Altroxin. Upon collecting my script on Monday, I realised that the name on the bottle was different to what the doctor advised that he prescribed but did not think anything of it as after all that is probably what the doctor prescribed. The entire week I have been feeling exceptionally dizzy and like I was having anxiety attacks, wanting to faint and not having any energy to move. On Sunday I could barely function I went online and found that Ecotrin is used for Blood thinning etc. and should not be taken when on low blood pressure medication - which I have been on for nearly a year. This morning I contacted the chemist at medicross to confirm what the script said, knowing that the doctor said he was prescribing altroxin. When the lady advised that they made a mistake and could not read the doctors hand writing and that Altroxin was indeed what the dctor prescribed and that the ecotrin was issued by mistake. This is unacceptable! And all I get form the chemist is sorry, we could not read the doctors hand writing. This is beyond irresponsible and could have cost my life!
