I am pregnant and probably on the worst medical aid in South Africa. 249 prior complaints and only 9 compliments for this company speaks volumes.
I submitted a gyaneacologist bill in November after having paid cash to the service provider for the consultation. Bankmed paid the bill after follow ups. The 2nd consultation was done in December and to date I have been receiving service I would never wish on my worst enemy. the bill was submitted on the 3/1 and after several calls, complaints and issues with these people my claim is rejected due to benefits being exhausted. reason: the baby and me application that was submitted on the 20/1 was done after the consultation so my pregnancy benefits come out of the normal benefits... didn't you people think of telling me this in November when I submitted my claim the first time??? incompetent staff and dumb answers from team leaders. Lucinda from the contact centre seems to think it was my duty to tell the agent I am pregnant. The claim I submitted in November and followed up clearly states pregnancy on the invoice. im sorry over and above doing my job I now have to feed you people enough information to do your job. pathetic!!!
