On 8 January 2014 my mother who is a government pensioner went to the GEMS walk-in centre in Braamfontein (Traduna House) to submit her application forms. She was assisted by Xoni Nxumalo who requested that I email her (she allegedly does not have an office telephone line hence she furnished her email address) to discuss the offerings on the 3 plans mentioned below and finalise the application. I emailed her the next morning (9 January) and sent a follow-up email on 10 January, to date, she has not responded to my emails.

This morning (14 January) I called the GEMS call centre to enquire if anything pertaining to my mother's application has (at least) been captured on their system and I was advised by Buli Thuse that nothing pertaining to my mother reflects on GEMS' system. This is totally frustrating as this Xoni person is sitting with original documents and not returning my emails

This is very unprofessional and appalling customer service by GEMS that should not be condoned nor tolerated on any level.
