We booked a room at The Herb Garden Guest House on our way back from Jeffrey's Bay for Sunday 29 December 2013. We made full payment for the room about 3 hours after I made the booking. It makes it easy to sleep over and drive back to Pretoria the next day to not be as tired as you would be driving the whole 12 hours. I asked all information to the receptionist telephonically. She said their latest check-in time is at 22:00 pm and that you only need to phone them if you are running late. We arrived at about 21:20. We were greeted by the owner, Marius, with the rude words that we could've had the decency to call and let them know what time we will be checking in. He said that a lot of people book and pay and then never pitch - but I mean what is his problem? He has then already received his money. We paid in full straight away and we were there before the latest check-in time.
He then said that this is not a hotel, If we want to go to a hotel where we can check in anytime we want, we should've done so. I told him that he was being rude as we are clients. He was rude until we went into our room. This is unacceptable behaviour. They will never see us again! I expect an apology
