Lancet
Account handed over, but never sent to patient

Health & Medicine

I received a letter from ITC-BA on the 30th Jan 2013 stating that I had outstanding money owning to Lancet. this was for some tests conducted on 07th March 2012. During that time period, I have never received any statement of account from Lancet. I never received any correspondence asking for the money either. When I received the letter from ITC-BA, I immediately called Lancet. The call centre agent told me that they had submitted the account to the medical aid and that it was rejected due to insufficient funds. I work for the same medical aid and can confirm that none of those claims ever reached the medical aid and so could not have been rejected!!! I have asked for proof of submission and am awaiting it. I would have at least gotten a medical aid statement if the claims reached the medical aid. This is common practice with Lancet as it has happened before to me, and surprisingly, two people sitting next to me in my office.
This is pathetic, amature account administration and to threathen customers with legal action without being able to provide proof that an account was sent is laughable!!!
