Oakdene Veterinary Clinic
Bad Practice

Health & Medicine

Dog was left in the care of Joe at the Oakdene Clinic. After inspection it was agreed that the dog was going to be treated and could possibly be home the following day. The following day, I had to call to find out about the dog, only to find out that he had deterioted. After obtaining some information, I have come to the conclusion that the dog had not been checked on. (Neglected) He was in terrible pain and had suffered a stroke. Whilst everyone was BUSY in that fascility, the dog was dying. I collected my dog from them that morning and took him on my own accord to have an emergency surgery procedure done. But it seems it was to late. Until today I have not heard from Joe or anyone else in that fascility. Surely if you have good practice you will know that you need to check on the dog every hour, and surely you should communicate any concerns immediately, and do everything in your power to save the animals' life. Surely you can tell when it is becoming life threatening, and surely you should see the urgency in the matter. As an experienced vet, you should be able to see that your attempts have failed and that it is time to react and fast! RIP my little doggie!
