Termination of medical aid

I requested Fedhealth to cancel my medical aid on the 08-11-2013 for the end of November, due to the fact that I can not afford it any longer. I was told that they could only terminate at the end of December as I need to give them a calender month's notice. I can't afford it any more and yet they still want me to pay for the month of December. I asked them what if I stop the debit order and were told that I could be listed on ITC. I THINK THIS IS VERY UNFAIR AS THE ECONOMY IS TODAY EVERYBODY IS STRUGGLING TO MAKE END MEET.
