DISSATISFIED AND WARY OF THE OUTCOME

Health & Medicine

I went to Cresta Specsavers for an eye test on Saturday the 26th of January at 1pm.By 1.05pm the lady was done testing my eyes. i was not even asked to read a chart, or even a refraction test done. All she did was put me in a chair then ask me to look through this machine (that looks like the eye test done for driver's licence) and she would blur the letters and ask if i see them clearly and decrease the blur until i say i see it. This was done for 5 mins and my eye test was done!! Then i was made to choose a frame and sign something to effect of about R3900 for spectacles which they said they will claim from my medical aid. I am extremely unhappy with this test and am very much convinced it was a bogus and unprofessional test done, she didnt even tell me whether am long sighted or short sighted or even what the spectacles are for!! All i know is she said this is a computer focus test something like that... Specsavers i fear those spectacles to either damage my eyesight further or cause me to have more migraines than i am already having. i called call centre and reported, no feedback yet. How did she determine the correct lense with no refraction test? is this even professional?
