Unable to use my prokard vouche

I called in the Protea Hotel Reservations and wanted to book a night at Umhlanga Ridge. The lady advised that there is availablity for that day. After that I informed that I want to use my Voucher and the lady advised after that thee is no room available as I am using the voucher. Why and how is that possible?
