Spec savers don't refund debit card transactions!

About a month ago I bought contact lenses from Spec Savers in Cavendish square. I was told to keep the boxes unopened and to keep my slip should I need to return them. I went to another optometrist who discovered that my script was wrong so I returned the contacts to Spec Savers. i was told when I purchased them that I would receive a cash refund should I return them - I paid by debit card. When the time came for me to return them I was told that they would not give me my money back but that their head office would need to do the transfer. This was a Friday and I was told that the deposit would be made first thing on Monday morning. I was annoyed as a debit card is like cash and I was therefore wanting the cash back, but I accepted that a deposit would be ok. That was 3 weeks ago and I am still waiting! I phone them every 2 - 3 days and am always told that it will be done tomorrow. But as the proverb goes "Tomorrow never comes" - and this is true of Spec Savers when it comes to doing refunds! I phoned today and was told that they couldn't help me because they are doing a revamp and only handling customer collections. So much for customer service.
