Making their mistake my problem

I submitted a claim for medical expenses to Discovery via email to be reimbursed. My cover email CLEARLY stated that there was a payment receipt attached and the receipt was also visible on the scan of the invoice. Great was my surprise to find out that Discovery had decided to pay the doctor again and no reimbursements to me.
When I phoned the call centre to query this, I was informed that the payment receipt was not clearly visible on the first scan that they opened and they therefore submitted it to be paid to the doctor. Also, they cannot rectify it from their side, it is up to me to contact the doctor to arrange reversals or refunds or however I want to get my money back.
This is really poor customer service as I did not make the mistake in the first place and even more of my time and effort now needs to go into trying to get my money back
