Handed over with no prior comms

I received an sms about 2 months ago notifying me that my lancet account has been handed over with a reference number. i tried for days to call that number as i was not aware of any outstanding accounts. Eventually after about 2 weeks i finally managed to get hold of someone who promised to email me the statement. the statement was emailed but attachment was unable to open. since then i have been emailing and trying to call for about 3 weeks and had NO response what so ever. the telephone line is constantly getting cut off. how can they just hand you over with ZERO communication and then not be able to provide you with proof of the statement and proof of attempting to make contact? That is surely not legal??? I am absolutely disgusted with Lancet and the service and REFUSE to ever use them again. This account dates back to 2011!!!
