I hate Discovery Health!!!

I phoned Discovery Health on the 2nd July to inform them of my resignation from my company and needed to understand what the procedure would be. The consultant said that I could move my account to private capacity from the 1 August. Great!

Today I realised there hadn't been a premium deducted and I phoned them to enquire only to be told that my account was inactive from 1st August because my broker representing my company had OBVIOUSLY instructed them to withdraw me from the medical aid. So they ignored my request and effected the broker's instructions.

I was told that I would have to have my account reinstated but that would involve paying for the month of August. My argument is that they were expecting me to pay for a month when I wasn't even covered!! "That's policy", they said.

A Senior client relations manager told me that in fact the consultant that told me I could just move to private capaciy was wrong. I would have had to apply from scratch. He was sorry that I was misinformed. Just like that!

Discovery don't care about their clients! Train your staff properly and learn about proper service recovery!! There I'm off your back!
