Poor illness benefits of health plans

I pay R3672.00 per month to Discovery for a medical aid. I am not an abuser of the fund and has been with them for quite some time. Now that I need them they're not there for me. My eldest daughter has to get bracers which will cost R24000.00. I just learnt that on my plan there are NO additional coverage for bracers except my already pathetically small MSR of about R6000.00 per year, which means that if I claim from the MSR for these bracers me and my family cannot get sick for 3 years as there won't be an MSR to claim from.
Why do we pay so much money per month for poor coverage? Shame on you Discovery.
