Recon of self funding gap

My late father was the main member of our medical aid. Before he passed away on the 15th of July 2013, we had a self-funding gap of R3000. This amount was settled in full. There after the above threshold benefits kicked in, of which we used R573. After the passing of my father, the membership was restructured and my mother became the main member. Subsequently we paid a claw back of R4000 as requested by Bankmed.

Once this was settled, the self-funding gap suddenly increased to R10678.

For the past month we have been in constant communication with Bankmed to no avail.
They are unable to provide us with a break down or calculation as to how the amount of R10678.00 was calculated yet demand payment thereof before we may submit any claims.
