WHAT A BAD EXPERIENCE

We are terribly disappointed in the standard of the Protea Hotel Kerridene, Illovo for the following reasons:
It dates 30 years back
The carpets are old and jiggy
The bath still has a plastic curtain shower
The images on the internet is misleading - looks like it is on the beach. In fact a railway runs in front of it.
The staff are loud and seems.not to be professionally trained.

We are used to staying in Protea hotels:
Wanderes
Melrose Arch
PE
Kimberley
Marine Parade
Knysna
Umhlanga
Clarens
Mosselbay
Cape Town

We are use to a specific standard and therefore joined Prokard as a member. If this is the way Protea is relaxing standards we seriously need to reconsider our membership. If the local standard is not keeping abreast of other brand names, we (and I am sure that I am talking on behalf of thousand other potential customers) have sufficient other options.

We used our stay one night free voucher for booking on the 24th August, viewed the place and booked out!
What disappointing end to our holiday at the South coast!
