I went to the Olivedale Clinic Branch of Ampath on 1 June 2013 to have blood drawn. I have been there a number of times and always request a quotation. The quote was for R 6683.50. I said 'go ahead', the blood was drawn and I paid before leaving. On 16 July 2013 I received a call from Ampath to say that there is an additional amount outstanding of R3588.20. I said 'impossible', I am a cash Client, why did they let me leave without paying the full amount? No explanation. Much tooing and froing with their Accounts people, which of course you dont get to speak to the same person twice, a one David called me yesterday to say that the Dr ordered the additional tests. I have in writing that he did not. He then said I signed for these additional tests on the form - not so, the consent signed for is for the tests as indicated on the form. They have up and are refusing to accept responsibility.
