Lancet
Billed for tests that weren't done

Health & Medicine

My GP drew blood on the 23rd of March and Lancet collected same day and took it to their Flora depot. My Dr called Lancet on the 25th to obtain the results, but was told the blood only reached the lab on the 25th (2 days later) and that the blood was too old to do the tests. No problem, I had new blood tests done with Ampath as this is the second time, Lancet has messed up my blood... (PS - The first time they lost my INR specimen - found it in a dustbin at the Flora depot - Prior Hellopeter report elapsed).

My frustration derives from a charge for Creatinine and Sodium potassium chloride CO2 urea tests, that got submitted to my medical aid which will be paid to Lancet on the 4th of April 2013.

How on earth can Lancet submit a claim to my medical aid for something that "could not been done because the blood was too old"? Surely that is considered as??

Stop the claim or refund my medical aid ASAP!!! Or else I will report you to Fedhealth's Department for further investigation.
